Small Village of some 700 residents

Our local beach, just a 4 minute walk from the property, was named one of the top 20 in Portugal by Conde Nast Traveler Magazine in 2025!

Cafe Resendes is our local bar and cafe in Ribeira das Tainhas. It’s a great place to stop for a coffee or a beer and a light bite- no formal food menu though.

The third weekend in July means Soup Fest in the village! Locals roll out their finest recipes to be sampled by, and voted on, by attendees

The Museu Olaria de Vila Franca highlights the history of pottery and handcraft (more information on this history can be found here)and features a museum that’s worth a visit

Miradouro da Nossa Senhora da Paz is a beautiful Chapel and scenic overlook that provides a wonderful view of the entire area. More information on its history can be found here

Very picturesque harbor here full of busy fishermen- fun to walk around and look at boats of all colors. It’s possible to book a whale-watching expedition or glass bottomed boat tour from here.

Vila Franca do Campo features a larger beach, Praia da Vinha da Areia, with a beach bar and several nearby restaurants

The exhibits include regional artifacts, pottery, ceramics, traditional arts and crafts, a naval section, and musical instruments. A prominent exhibit details the history of orange cultivation, a major economic driver in the 19th century.

Held in mid to late June, the festival is a popular celebration with traditions such as quadrilhas (square dances), cultural performances, and music.
